Dorset College Dublin Semester Abroad Programme offers the opportunity to study a wide range of modules in Business & Computing subjects.  Established in 1983, Dorset College is a private higher education institution, located in the centre of Dublin. Study Abroad Semester

Dorset welcomes students from all over the world to join its Study Abroad Programme., This flexible, one semester programme, which may include a work-based learning module, is designed for those seeking a high quality academic experience in an international setting.

Dorset’s Study Abroad Programme is open to anyone who meets its academic and English language proficiency requirements, including:

  • degree-seeking students from universities and colleges overseas;
  • high school leavers wanting an international experience before commencing further study at an institution in their home country;
  • those who have completed a higher education programme in their home country but who are yet to experience studying in another country.

Entry Requirements

The academic entry requirement is:

Typically, students on our study abroad semester will join Dorset College to complete credits as part of their bachelor programme in their home country.

Have successfully completed high school or equivalent .

Students applying directly to Dorset College, and must provide their high school qualification and/or any academic transcripts.

The English language proficiency requirement is:

Candidates whose first language is not English are required to meet the admission criteria of IELTS 5.5 / B2 CEFR or equivalent.

How To Apply

Complete the Online Application Form, and provide:

  • Academic Transcripts
  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Copy of your passport
  • Statement of financial sponsorship (in cases where a Study Visa is required.

Note that all students who require a study visa will need private medical insurance and a financial statement for immigration purposes. Please check your visa requirements carefully before making an application.

Assessment & Award

Assessment Method

Depending on your module selection, you will experience a rich mix of assessment methods.  You can view the module content and assessment for each of our modules on the relevant course page.

Award

At the completion of your programme you will receive an official Dorset academic transcript specifying the credit value (ECTS) of the modules you have completed and your grades. Study abroad students typically complete 30 ECTS per semester.

In many cases you will receive credit for your studies at Dorset College from institutions in your home country. Where an overseas institution has a partnership with Dorset College, that credit may be determined in advance.
