Refund Policy

Professional Courses - General Refund Policy

We offer you flexible payment options on all Professional Courses. The details are outlined on each course page which includes the online payment facility to manage your course payments at any time, from the comfort of your own office or home. Please note that the deposit you paid to secure your place in the course will not be refunded

If a student cancels their course the following refund schedule would apply.

On/after start No refund will be made to students who fail to attend classes or do not finish the course
Deferral

Students are allowed to defer their course start date two times.  The college requires 14 days notice prior to a course start date.   

Please Note: If a student defers their course to a new start date, all fees are non-refundable should the student then wish to cancel.

Please note that Dorset College reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any course at any time. In the unlikely event of cancellation your deposit/fees will be refunded. Dorset College also reserves the right to re-schedule the start dates of all courses and if necessary to vary the content. Except where expressly stated, all fees are non-refundable. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information on the website, it may be subject to later alteration or amendment in the light of policy changes, course updates or other constraints.

Examination Fees - Applies to all students

Examination fees are detailed on the price schedule and are payable on or before the starting date of the course. Online examinations are payable one week in advance of taking these exams by booking through the College. Our Online Test Centre is situated at 7 Belvedere Place, Dublin 1. All examination fees are non-refundable and are subject to change in accordance with the validating body's regulations.

Except where expressly stated, all fees are non-refundable.

Non Visa Requiring Students

Those wishing to undertake a Degree Programme are required to fill in the application form on the website and submit relevant documents. The Academic team will assess your application to ensure that it meets the programme entry requirements.  If you are successful, to secure your place on the course, you will be required to pay a deposit.  The deposit is a nominal fee of €500.   In the event of a cancellation where a refund is approved an administration fee of €350 will be deducted from the full amount paid.  A request to cancel an application must be made 28 days in advance of a course start date.  After this date all fees are non-refundable.   The applicant must complete a refund request form.  Please note that we are required to inform GNIB of such cancellations. 

International Refund Policy for Visa Requiring Students

Tuition fees paid to Dorset College are non-refundable, except for students whose Study Visa application to Ireland is refused. In such instances, tuition fees received will be refunded less an administration fee of €350.  The administration fee is non-refundable as are fees deducted by the credit card company.

Refund Request Process

  • A request for a refund will be processed within 20 working days after completion of this form.  Please complete the form in full and check that bank details are correct. 
  • Please attached a copy of the visa refusal letter received from the Irish Visa Office.
  • Please note that failure to supply the correct and complete information outlined above may result in a delay in the processing time of your refund request.

Course Fees and Refund Policy

Course Fees are outlined on the Fee Schedule.   Full fees are payable in advance and immigration documentation will only be released upon receipt of full payment of account as invoiced.  As permission to travel (study visa) and permission to remain (GNIB registration stamp 2/2a) are at the discretion of the Irish government, the following refund policies will apply:

  • Refusal of Visa Application: Dorset College will refund all monies less a standard deduction of €350 (administration fee), within 20 working days, upon production of a Letter of Refusal, or reference number, from the relevant visa office in respect of a Visa refusal or appeal.
  • Refusal of Renewal of GNIB Student Registration: Dorset College will refund all monies, less a deduction of no more than €350 (administration fee), within 20 working days, upon production of documentary evidence from INIS/GNIB indicating that renewal of student status has been refused.
  • Registered student: Once a student has received permission to travel/permission to remain, all course fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be made to students who fail to attend classes or do not finish their courses.
  • Deferral of Course:  A request to defer a course should be made at least one month in advance of the commencement date of the course.  Once a student has deferred their course, all course fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be made to students who fail to attend classes or do not finish their courses.  A deferral fee may be charged by the college. 
  • Cancelation of Course: Students are allowed to cancel their application up to 28 days in advance of the programme start date.  A cancelation can only be accepted in the event that the student has not used the college letter for entry to Ireland or for visa purposes. The cancelation request must be made in writing to [email protected] .
  • Currency policy: We reserve the right to refund course fees at the same rate less administration charges in the original currency of sender.
  • Force Majeure: In the case of force majeure situations refunds will be only considered on a case by case basis and this will be at the discretion of college management.
  • Medical Insurance: Once purchased Medical Insurance is not refundable.
  • Credit / Debit Cards: In the event of a refund, monies paid to the college by credit / debit card can only be refunded to that same card. Dorset College is not responsible for credit card fees taken by the credit card company at point of sale.

Please note:

Dorset College reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any course at any time. In the event that an application is made with fake or fraudulent documentation we reserve the right not to refund fees.

In the unlikely event of cancellation your deposit/fees will be refunded and the Irish National Immigration Service will be notified. Dorset College also reserves the right to re-schedule the start dates of all courses and if necessary to vary the content. Except where expressly stated, all fees are non-refundable.
