Jerry O’Connell

Academic Lecturer

Before returning to Ireland in 2013, Jerry spent 25 year’s working abroad leading Finance and Business Transformation initiatives, holding Senior Management roles in the Financial Services for Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) Frankfurt, CIBC London, Bull HN in London and Sydney, National Savings & Investments (NS&I) in London.

As well and being an accredited Life & Business Coach and Project Manager, Jerry has been a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) since 1987, holds a Master’s in financial services (MSC) from University College Dublin and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the National College of Ireland. In 2022, Jerry was accredited as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Jerry is the Program Lead for the Part time International Business cohort and currently lectures in the modules “Doing business in Global Markets”, “Corporate Governance & Ethics” and “Introduction to Financial Markets”. Jerry also lectures in the PMI Diploma in Project Management, Business Analysis and is an MBA Dissertation supervisor. 

Jerry has been a Director on Not-for-Profit Boards in the UK and Ireland for the past 20 years and is the Branch Accountant at the Irish Red Cross Head office in Dublin and also currently serves as Chair of First Fortnight, an Arts & Culture Mental Health Charity. Jerry has run 7 marathons and 7 half marathons, has a keen interest in the Arts and loves to travel to experience different cultures. He is originally from North Kerry.
