My name is Maria Bradley and I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I am currently working as a Consulate Officer at the Royal Thai Consulate, and I am at present studying for a Masters Degree in International Relations at DCU.
I was extremely fortunate to be given the opportunity to complete a Bachelor in International Business from Dorset College. After nearly a decade out of education and a failed attempt at my CAO choice following my leaving cert, my academic confidence was low and I needed support to get back to education.
I choose the International Business course for its diversity in modules and for the small class structure that Dorset College offers. The course provided me with a holistic view of international business in today's ever-changing world and the lecturers gave real-world examples with immense enthusiasm in their teachings which always kept me and my classmates highly engaged!
The staff and lecturers at Dorset College truly make the experience comfortable and manageable for every student. Although we worked hard during the course, there was always a helping hand or a word of enthusiasm given when needed.
I believe the quality of lectures and the small class structure highly contribute to Dorset's success and their polished reputation. Additionally, I found the interactive delivery of the course very beneficial, especially for someone who has been out of education for some time like myself. I am certain that I have developed academically, professionally, and personally, from undertaking my studies at Dorset College. I achieved academic skills and professional knowledge that gave me the confidence to pursue a Master's programme and a career in International Business.
The most memorable parts of the course for me was the multicultural experience of having a diverse class, the friendships I made, and creating my own website from scratch! I would highly recommend this course for those wishing to kick start their education again and pursue a career in any of the business fields. As the course is diverse in covering all elements of business, it is perfect for those who are not sure of which area in business they would like to specialize in just yet.
