Fidelma Flannery

Nursing Studies & Healthcare Lecturer – Nursing & Healthcare

Fidelma is a Registered Nurse in Intellectual Disabilities and graduated from her Bachelor’s degree with a First-Class Honour from Trinity College, Dublin. She worked as a staff nurse before progressing to a variety of nurse manager roles. She completed a master's degree in Health Services Management in Trinity College Dublin receiving a distinction for her thesis. Most recently she worked in the position of Director of Nursing in a large disability service in Dublin, a service which provides clinical learning environments to 60 student nurses every year. 

Fidelma is currently undertaking a PhD study exploring the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health and wellbeing of individuals with an intellectual disability. She aims to offer interesting, informative, and high-quality learning in an interactive and respectful environment, appreciating individuality and the equal contribution made by each student.

She is passionate and dedicated to supporting and developing students who have chosen to continue their education and learning with a view to working in the health and social care field.
