My name is Umair Ali Qazi, originally from Pakistan but residing currently in Dublin. I am working with Bidvest-Noonan as a Corporate Security Supervisor and beside this doing car trading business at a very initial and small level at the moment to put my business degree knowledge into practice. I am not studying at the moment, just decided to take some break but hopefully enrolling myself in MBA next year.

What Programme did you study at Dorset College and why?

I started my journey with Dorset College back in 2017, when I got enrolled in Level 7 Bachelors of Business Degree and left Dorset College with doing Level 8 Honors Degree in International Business. I chose this programme to enhance my existing knowledge of business and marketing discipline but on international studies exposure.

Why did you choose studying with Us?

I felt myself very fortunate of taking decision to enroll in Dorset and the reason is; this institute is not less to compete with any high end, huge fee institute. When I was planning to get admission in Ireland I found Dorset College with economical fee and high class learning experience with base founding modules structure which enables a student to get in depth knowledge and learning outcome to the fullest.

How was your experience studying at Dorset College Dublin?

I am confident to say that my experience with Dorset College is very impressive and beyond expectations. The reason is that Dorset’s staff be it Lecturers or management staff are always there to put extra effort to help the students. I was very fortunate by having such great lecturers with vast industry experience, great knowledge and teaching skills that create an impact on students and provide motivation to get learning with its application to the real world.

What three values do you think Dorset College offers on a professional and personal level?

There’s a long list of values that I have learned from Dorset, especially in last 2 years of my degree and pointing out three out of them is tricky but I will try my best;

  • Commitment: is the key to enhance one’s personal and professional development and the lecturers always encourage us to be committed to yourself first to achieve something big in life whether its personal or professional field.
  • Inclusiveness: Dorset College provided me with the opportunity to enhance my interpersonal skills by having a class that is full of diversified people from all over the globe, and this brings sense of inclusiveness that everyone is the part of same community and not different from others. And I am positive to say that if someone adopts this value he/she can achieve even more in professional career as well because it showcase that a person is easy-going and quick learner of different values.
  • Empathy: is to have compassion, concern and affection for other people around us. I am very delighted that Dorset College offered modules like Corporate Governance & Ethics and Personal & Professional Development that enlighten my knowledge to have compassion and feelings for people around me in personal and professional life.

What recommendation would you have for those who are thinking about studying with Us?

I would say to students who are willing to study with Dorset College, not to think even for second time while making decision because I can say this confidently that you won’t regret your decision at the end of the day. It’s the best college with affordable fee and offering great resources for learning that will augment your personal and professional experience.

How has your experience at Dorset College influenced your professional development?

As I mentioned two modules above, are life changing modules for improving norms of professional development on one side and personal on the other side. I really want to appreciate the efforts of Mary Gordon, Anne O’Mahony and David Keane who enhanced my interpersonal and professional skills by offering courses and guidance which is really helpful for my real world experiences and to add value into my professional career.

Dorset College is…

I am very positive in saying that Dorset College for me is a life changer, source of passion and encouragement. Because it has always given me more than my expectations. Moreover, it’s the place that I can associate myself to get any career or life progression advice from. So at the end I can say with all sureness that Dorset College is the institute where I would really love to come back if they start offering Masters level programs.
