What programme did you study at Dorset College Dublin & why?

I started my journey with Dorset College when I enrolled on the Level 7 Bachelor of Business Degree and eventually left with my Level 8 Honors Degree in International Business. I chose this programme to enhance my existing knowledge of business and marketing discipline, but with an international studies exposure.

Why did you choose to study with Dorset College?

I felt very fortunate in my decision to enrol in Dorset and the reason is that this institute is not less to compete with any high end, huge fee institution. When I was planning to get admission into Ireland, I found Dorset College with economical fees and high class learning experience with base founding modules structure which enables a student to get in depth knowledge and learning outcome to the fullest.

How was your experience studying at Dorset College?

I am confident to say that my experience with Dorset College is very impressive and beyond expectations. The reason is that the Dorset staff, be it lecturers or management, are always there to put extra effort in to help the students. I was very fortunate by having such great lecturers with vast industry experience, great knowledge and teaching skills that create an impact on students, and provide motivation to get learning with its application to the real world.

What three values do you think Dorset College offers on a professional or personal level?

There’s a long list of values that I have learned from Dorset, especially in the last 2 years of my degree, and pointing out three out of them is tricky but I will try my best;

  • Commitment: The key to enhance one’s personal and professional development and the lecturers always encourage us to be committed to yourself first to achieve something big in life whether its personal or professional.
  • Inclusiveness: Dorset College provided me with the opportunity to enhance my interpersonal skills by having a class that is full of diversified people from all over the globe. This brings a sense of inclusiveness that everyone is a part of the same community and not different from one another. I am positive to say that if someone adopts this value he/she can achieve even more in their professional career as it showcase that a person is easy-going and a quick learner of different values.
  • Empathy: To have compassion, concern and affection for other people around us. I am very delighted that Dorset College offered modules like Corporate Governance and Ethics and Personal & Professional Development, that enlightened my knowledge to have compassion and feelings for people around me in my personal and professional life.

What recommendation would you have for those who are thinking about studying with us?

I would say to students who are thinking of studying in Dorset College, not to think doubt yourself whilst making your decision because I can say this confidently that you won’t regret your decision at the end of the day. It’s the best college with affordable fees and offers great resources for learning that will augment your personal and professional experience.

How has your experience at Dorset College influenced your professional development?

As I mentioned, they offer life changing modules for improving norms of professional development on one side and personal on the other side. I really want to appreciate the efforts of Mary Gordon, Anne O’Mahony and David Keane who enhanced my interpersonal and professional skills by offering courses and guidance which is really helpful for my real world experiences and to add value into my professional career.

Dorset College is… a life changer, a source of passion and encouragement, which has always given me more than my expectations. Moreover, it’s the place that I can associate myself to get any career or life progression advice from. At the end, I can say with all sureness that Dorset College is the institute where I would really love to come back if they start offering Master level programmes!
