Hybrid Classes 2021


Dorset College is delighted to welcome our students back to campus in September and we will be delivering our modules in a combination of hybrid and online classes in line with Public Health Guidelines. Watch the video to understand how we will run our HYBRID classes.

All on-campus activities will resume in September such as classes, laboratories and social activities. If any learner cannot attend in-person classes for any reason such as an underlying health condition please contact our Covid-19 Officer(s):


COVID-19 ADVICE


The most up to date information and advice is being provided by the HSE and can be found here and the Department of Health can be found here. Please note that all the necessary safety precautions have been implemented in the College and the College expects learners to use face coverings, hand sanitization and social distancing in all College buildings.


COVID-19 ISOLATIONS ROOMS & COVID OFFICER


If you are on-campus when you develop COVID-19 symptoms, you should - if you can - go home immediately and contact your GP. If you cannot go home you can immediately contact one of our COVID-19 Officers go directly to one of the COVID-19 isolation rooms on campus. Please note the following Covid-19 Isolation Room(s)

  • Building 58 – EFL 5823 (Second Floor Room 3)
  • Building Number 7 and 8 – Library basement of Building Number 7


CONTACT TRACING
Please contact our Covid-19 Officers immediately if you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or if you are symptomatic of COVID-19. This will ensure you are appropriately supported as well as your classmates and Dorset College staff and faculty.


In order to facilitate contact tracing, Dorset College requests all members of its community including students to download the HSE COVID-19 Tracker App (https://covidtracker.gov.ie) and to use the symptom checker on the App on a daily basis.


By using the app students will:

  • be alerted if they have been in close contact with another app user who has tested positive for coronavirus
  • be able to track any symptoms they have and get advice on what to do to protect themselves and others
  • be able to anonymously warn other app users that they were in close contact with if they test positive for coronavirus
