This Computer Fundamentals Module provides a comprehensive introduction to the IT industry and in-depth exposure to personal computers, hardware, and operating systems. Learners learn how various hardware and software components work and best practices in maintenance, safety, and security. Through hands-on lab activities, learners learn how to assemble and configure computers, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

Where the combined marks of the assessment and examination do not reach the pass mark the learner will be required to repeat the element of assessment that they failed. Reassessment materials will be published on Moodle after the Examination Board Meeting and will be aligned to the MIMLOs and learners will be capped at 40% unless there are personal mitigating circumstances.
