The Student Experience went to visit the magnificent National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology on Kildare Street.
The museum is a branch of the National Museum of Ireland, a stunningly restored building that guides you through a series of significant periods in Irish history.
On this visit, the students could see antiquities dating from the Stone Age to the Late Middle Ages such as the Gold Torcs from the Bronze Ages and the Viking Metal Work from early medieval excavation sites.
This is a fantastic way for our students to learn about Irish history in an engaging way, especially for the semester abroad groups, that come every year for a whole experience and get to enjoy all these moments.
The museum was established under the Science and Art Museum Act of 1877. This is a real treasure in the city centre, situated next door to Leinster House where The Oireachtas and its members sit.
